I hand embroidered her new name on the band of her wedding garter and then I made her a matching tossing wedding garter with a beautiful silk flower. The end result was fabulous! (Just a warning, I’m going to post a lot of pictures of this unique garter because I had a hard time choosing!)

This couture wedding garter is a set, which means it includes a keepsake garter to save and a tossing wedding garter to throw. The main wedding garter is the Purple Goddess garter from my couture collection with the bride’s new name hand embroidered in light purple. The matching tossing garter is orchid light purple with a blue satin stripe and a multi-color purple silk flower.

I’m really not trying to be rude, but this is such a mystery to me. It is one garter tradition that I just don’t get. And, you wouldn’t believe the pictures/articles/posts that came up when I Googled this topic!

Does it signify some sort of conquest? It is supposed to be fun/funny? Maybe sentimental like a prom night remembrance?

I just have one question: Why?

The peacock feather wedding theme is so fun and stylish. It adds a little style with the deep blues and greens!

Ok, so it isn’t of Nicole’s wedding garter, but I just loved it and I wanted to share it first! Onto the garter photos! These next few pictures are of Nicole putting on her wedding garter. I thought they were neat and showed a different perspective on the garter tradition.
