Custom Garter Spotlight: Mint Green

I’m a little bit in love with mint green after making this custom wedding garter! So in love that I made this mint green board on Pinterest! The bride wanted to switch up the Vintage Corset couture style wedding garter with mint green satin to match her wedding colors. And, wow, did it turn out pretty!

This custom wedding garter is a set with a garter to keep and one to toss. The main garter is an ivory satin background with a mint green satin stripe and a stripe of vintage French lace. It is tied in the back with a mint green satin corset tie. The matching tossing garter is ivory satin with a mint green satin stripe.

Real Wedding Garter: Mel’s Canadian Baseball

What can be more fun than a baseball themed wedding garter for your baseball playing husband?? Mel wanted to design a surprise wedding garter for her fiance who is from Canada and plays baseball. It was a surprise for him and apparently a total hit at their wedding! The maple left matched the groom’s cake too! I hand embroidered the Canadian maple leaf in the middle and stitched her garters to make it look like a baseball. It turned out so cute! Check out these pictures from The Sutherly Workshop

Tangerine Tango!

Pantone recently announced their color for 2012 – tangerine tango. This color is definitely fun and vibrant! It just looks like a party! I was really inspired by this color and created a tangerine tango wedding garter to showcase the color.

This wedding garter is an ivory satin background with a tangerine tango satin bow that ties in the back (1.5 inches wide). If you love it, you are in luck because I posted it on my Etsy page for sale for a great price!

So, what do you think? Will you dance the tangerine tango for your wedding color palette? It usually takes a while for color trends to make their way into weddings on account of the fact that couples select their wedding colors up to a year or two in advance of their wedding. So, I look forward to lots of tangerine tango coming down the aisle in 2013!

Real Wedding Garter: Robyn’s Yellow and Gray

When I design a wedding garter for a bride, I only learn a little part of their story, only what they chose to tell me in order to complete their design. After the wedding when I see the pictures is usually when I hear and see the real story of my clients. Like, Robyn. She and her husband are both air traffic controllers and so they were married on an airplane! That’s right, an airplane! Weddings that have a theme that is personal are always so special! Robyn’s design was a beautiful gray and yellow custom garter with a touch of lace. You can see her real wedding photos from ENV Photography…

Happy Wedding Day: Navy & Coral!

I’ve been having a bit of fun lately posting custom wedding garters on the bride’s actual wedding date. (It is the small things in life, really!!) Here is custom wedding garter whose bride is getting married today! It is a vibrant navy and coral combination that just popped when I put it together. I would die to see the rest of this bride’s wedding, I’m sure the navy and coral details are just amazing!

This is a wedding garter set, so it has a matching tossing garter. The main garter is a navy blue grosgrain background with a coral grosgrain knot tied in the middle (1.5 inches wide). On either side of the knot in white, I hand embroidered the couple’s initials and wedding date. The matching tossing garter is a navy grosgrain background with a white satin stripe and a coral grosgrain stripe (5/8 inch wide).

Cupcakes!

My daughter recently turned four and we hosted a little cupcake decorating party for her friends at our new house. The pictures from her party were featured on The Sweetest Occasion blog. I’m so thankful that Abby Jiu was there to take pictures of the party! It was all I could do to bake the cupcakes.
